EMI Shielding for High Power Computer
A high-power computer designed for processing real-time lidar data required EMI protection to ensure reliable operation aboard airplanes. The challenge was the computing system was nearing the end of its design phase, so adding EMI protection needed to be addressed as a secondary consideration.
Given the high-power nature of the system, maintaining airflow was critical to prevent overheating. We designed lightweight honeycomb EMI filters that provided effective EMI shielding while minimizing airflow resistance. We collaborated with test engineers and technicians to evaluate airflow performance, confirming that the design maintained ventilation at acceptable levels. Additionally, the design offered several advantages: it was lightweight, cost-effective, and easy to install. Lastly, We created fabrication drawings to for part manufacture and production transfer.

Motor EMI Shielding
A rotational motor in a medical device system required EMI protection. We designed the motor shield and collaborated with electrical engineers to test its performance in compliance with IEC 60601 standards.
Our new design improved assembly efficiency compared to the previous version and incorporated weldments to eliminate gaps that may cause EMI leakage. We also created technical drawings for fabrication, including weldment location and applying appropriate tolerances for assembly.
